Coming up with a concept/format is like the ultimate puzzle. Whether it concerns a marketing campaign, a new brand or a new snack. It is this diversity that makes the profession so fascinating.
In concept development, everything has to be right, from beginning to end and back again. You have to take the time and muster the necessary concentration.
A format or concept can be found everywhere. Think of IKEA, a TV program, or a franchise formula. These are all formulas that have been devised and developed.
As a concept developer I have participated in countless brainstorming sessions. During those sessions it became clear that there is one condition for a successful brainstorm: think along with each other and not against each other. When people think along with each other with the sincere desire to strengthen the idea, you often get a great output. This mainly entails to ask questions before giving opinions or making suggestions. In this way it is more a philosophical process.
I am a Brainstorm Partner, either as a facilitator of creative thinking sessions or as a participant by providing creative input. I am deployable in a broad field. Wherever a solution is needed, I am more than happy to contribute.
Central to my brainstorm are three core questions that are alternately discussed. What? Why? How?
What is the question, the problem, the wish, for which we need to find a solution? Why is this important/urgent? How will we realize the desired solution?
THE RIGHT QUESTIONS???
Concepts are being developed in many places and in all kinds of areas. It can be enlightening if someone questions those plans in a short but powerful session. Someone who takes a fresh look at your concept while not immediately coming up with suggestions, but instead asks clarifying questions. As someone who is distant from the concept without knowing the details, I can ask questions you may not have thought of, or you might not (yet) have answers to. In short, an enlightening brainstorm session. I can make a contribution wherever there is a need for guiding or participating in creative thinking sessions. From idea to concept is a familiar process for me.
